Here at Happy Kids, the Tooth Fairy is a big deal. We get pretty excited when she comes to visit, and we look for any excuse to celebrate her. The good news is, National Tooth Fairy Day comes twice a year! Just like we recommend visiting the dentist twice a year, we also get to celebrate the tooth fairy on February 28 and again on August 22.
It’s no secret that kids’ favorite part about the Tooth Fairy is the money she brings when a tooth is left under the pillow. As parents, it can be confusing as to how much the Tooth Fairy typically brings. According to Delta Dental’s annual Original Tooth Fairy Poll and website that tracks how much the Tooth Fairy is spoiling our kids, the average cash gift amounted to $3.70 per tooth. That’s a lot of cash!
We recommend using your child’s lost tooth as an opportunity to promote good dental health, especially near National Tooth Fairy Day. The Delta Dental survey results also found that oral health related gifts from the Tooth Fairy are on the raise. Nearly 50 perfect of kids also found a toothbrush, toothpaste or floss under their pillow. We love that kind of Tooth Fairy tradition! How do you like to celebrate tooth loss and visits from the Tooth Fairy?
