Get it done year one

What is the right age to come in for your first dental visit?

1 + 1 = 0
ONE dental visit when there's ONE tooth can equal ZERO cavities.

Come to us with the first tooth, and we'll set up a lifelong preventive dental care program for your child. Growing up, they won't be complaining about tooth decay and cavities.
Plus, when you introduce your child to a pediatric dentist early on, they are less anxious about dental visits as they grow.

What to expect during our first visit at age one?

  • Let your child bring their favorite stuffed animal, pick their favorite songs to play on the car ride over, or incentivize the appointment with a small treat later.

  • Our dentist will “count” your baby’s teeth, and we will make sure they are cavity-free. If cleaning is required, we'll do that too.

  • The first visit generally lasts only a few minutes, but it paves the way to ensure the best possible oral health care for your child's future.

  • We will talk about diet, fluoride, toothpaste, pacifiers, growth and development, establishing good habits, and answer all of your questions.

  • We might apply fluoride varnish if needed.

How do I keep my baby’s teeth clean?

  • Clean your baby's gums with a damp, soft washcloth after feeding.

  • Once the first tooth appears, start using a toothbrush made for infants – with soft bristles and a smaller head.

  • Do not use toothpaste without consulting your dentist.

Which toothpaste should we use?

Do not use toothpaste without consulting your dentist!

A child's first tooth becomes visible in the mouth around the age of 6 months. American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends using a smear (or roughly the size of a grain of rice) of fluoride toothpaste for children from tooth eruption through age 2.

What Insurance do you accept? How much does it cost to see a dentist?

We do accept most insurance plans, and also offer in-office financing options. Please call to set up a no-obligation free consultation, where we can give you an accurate estimate for your child’s care.

Great environment for children. My son is 8 and I could tell he immediately felt comfortable and at ease.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating of our special needs as my son has autism and tends to get anxious quickly.
